The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, July 22 reveals Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be heartbroken.
Also coming up, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will support his wife. Plus, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will make a surprising offer to Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). And Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will speak with Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins).
Y&R spoilers tease Traci will be surrounded by Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). She’ll open her laptop and ask them not to say a word when she’s talking to Martin, because he may shut down. Traci will connect the video chat and Martin will say it’s wonderful to see her.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Martin Wants A Face To Face Meeting With Traci
He’ll talk about the long walks and long conversations they used to have. “This is not exactly a social call,” she’ll reply. “I’m reaching out because I need your help.” And she’ll ask if he knows a therapist named Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns).
“Markham,” Martin will say. “How could I forget the good doctor.” Traci will tell him Markham kidnapped Diane, fled and is in hiding. “Until we know where he is, he’s still a threat.” Martin will say he’s as vain as his brother was. He’ll tell her he rented a summer house and he’ll give her the information if she’ll grant him a small favor.
So, Martin will ask if she’ll visit him, so he can beg her for forgiveness. “I’m confident I know enough about Markham to give you everything you need to know to keep your family safe.” Traci will say she’ll arrange a meeting. After she closes the laptop, tell Jack that was harder than she thought. But she wants Martin to see she’s not afraid of him.
Meanwhile, Nikki will wake up and prepare for her doctor’s appointment. She’ll brush her hair and put a head band on. Then she’ll put her hand to the mirror. “If my prayers are answered,” she’ll say. “I’ll be able to see myself by the end of the day.”
Downstairs, Victor will tell Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that Matt spent the night at the Athletic Club, so he didn’t leave town. “You’re not gonna like who he stayed with,” Nick will reply. And he’ll tell his father it was Phyllis. “I went upstairs and knocked on the door but they didn’t open it,” Nick will add.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Phyllis Tells Matt He Makes Her Laugh
Nikki will come out with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and they’ll head to the hospital with Nick, Victor and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). She’ll decide to attend the appointment alone but she’ll change her mind and ask Dr. Nowling (Doug Tompos) if someone from her family can join her.
Victor will come in and the doctor will remove the bandages. Nikki will open her eyes. “It’s all black,” she’ll exclaim. “There’s nothing.” The Newmans will return home and Victor will tell Nikki it’s just temporary. She’ll say she’s holding onto the hope that someday soon she’ll see their faces again.
Nikki will decide to go to her room and Victor will offer to help her. However, she’ll insist on going by herself. Once she’s there, she’ll sit in front of the mirror and throw her hairbrush at it, cracking it. Then she’ll start weeping. But will Nikki’s sight ever return?
In her suite, Phyllis will wake up, put on a silky robe and see Matt lying on the couch. “Good morning,” he’ll say. They’ll discuss Matt putting on the brakes and he’ll say he didn’t want to take advantage, since he’s leaving. “You made me laugh last night,” Phyllis will admit. “I also feel safe with you.” And she’ll suggest they go out on their date.
Finally, Matt and Phyllis will end up at Society. She’ll tell him Victor gave her a company and she needs to build it up. So, she’ll offer him a job. “Why would you hire me?” he’ll ask. “It feels a little like pity.” Phyllis will say it’s not, it’s a win-win for them both. But will Matt accept?
