The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, August 7 reveals Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) won’t be able to resist the allure of being high.
Also coming up, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will blast Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Plus, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will encourage Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to let it go. And Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will be alarmed when Nick doesn’t check himself back into rehab.
Y&R spoilers tease Billy will spot Audra at Society. They’ll discuss Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) being on a flight because of an emergency with her sister and he’ll be worried. “She going to take care of herself and the baby,” Audra will tell him. “All will be well.”

But then she’ll confront him about blabbing to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about their deal with Adam. “For the record I wasn’t happy with the deal,” he’ll reply. “And I wasn’t happy that someone convinced Sally to keep the details from me.” Audra will say she encouraged Sally to tell him. And she’ll implore him to let it go, for Sally’s sake. “You’ve won, you got the girl.”
Meanwhile, Victoria will talk to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) about how happy she is for her parents, who just left for Venice. But Victoria will notice Claire has a glow about her. “How’s Holden?” she’ll ask and Claire will say she saw him this morning. Victoria will get a call from the rehab clinic. Nick didn’t return after checking himself out for the vow renewal.
At Newman ranch, Adam will answer the phone and it’ll be someone looking for Victor. “This is his son,” he’ll say. “Wait, what happened to Nick?” Then Nick will walk in and Adam will ask where he’s been. “I was gonna go straight back but I went home to see Christian,” he’ll reply.
Adam will tell him it’s important for him to go back to treatment as soon as possible. And Nick will ask him for a favor, he thinks he’ll be in rehab longer than he thought. “I need you to keep an eye on Christian.” After all he and Adam’s son are super tight. So Adam will agree to it.
Nick will admit he can’t be the kind of dad he needs to be right now. Then Adam will tell him Matt moved off the ranch and is shacking up with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Nick won’t be happy with that news, but he’ll say he’s heading back to rehab. The brothers will hug it out and Nick will leave.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will talk to her daughter about forgiveness. “There are some people, you don’t ever forgive,” she’ll add when she sees Matt walk in. Mariah will turn around and look at her mom. Matt will say he’s not there to disturb her.

“I’m Matt, hello,” he’ll say to Mariah. “I think I knew your sister Cassie from before.” Mariah will say she knows all about him and that he claims to have forgotten who he is. “But nobody’s really buying your reformed act.” He’ll tell her he’d like to make amends and if there’s anything he can do, just ask.
Both Sharon and Mariah will tell him there is something, he can leave town. Matt will admit he isn’t leaving, he has a friend in town and possibly a job. “I don’t want to ever hurt you again Sharon, ever,” he’ll add. “And I’d just like to get a chance to prove that to you.”
Mariah will tell Matt to stay away from her family and her mom. “She’s faced enough demons and so have I.” Then Victoria will show up. She’ll ask Sharon if she’s heard from Nick. Victoria will turn to Matt and ask if he did something to her brother and he’ll deny it.
Then Victoria and Sharon will head to the ranch and Adam will say Nick was just there and told him he spent the night with Christian and was heading back to rehab. He’ll add that he asked him to look after Christian. “Maybe I shouldn’t have let him go.”
Sharon will be stunned that Nick asked Adam to look after Christian. She’ll say she can’t shake the feeling that something is off. So Victoria will call the rehab clinic and they’ll tell her Nick hasn’t returned yet. “I don’t think they’re buying his story,” she’ll tell them. Sharon will be worried and Adam will say they don’t need to jump to any conclusions.
Finally, Nick will call his drug dealer. “I’ll take my usual order, pick up at the same spot.” The dealer will show up and Nick will pay him for a baggie of pills. After the dealer leaves, he’ll take two pills out of the baggie and pop them into his mouth.
