The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, August 11 reveals Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) will be a bad influence on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Also coming up, Devon Winters (Bryton James) will surprise Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Plus, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will come close to sharing a smooch.
Y&R spoilers tease Lily and Nate will celebrate a big win for Winters. Then Devon and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will walk in. He’ll say he has something to tell them that will change their lives. Devon will mention the kidnapping and the fact that he was too busy working to help his son make a snowman. “I’m just here to say I’m gonna make damn sure that never happens again.”
Y&R Daily Scoop – Abby’s Happy Devon Is Back To His Old Self
Lily and Nate will tell him he’s being too hard on himself. “The bottom line is I know I should have been there,” Devon will reply. He’ll admit he’s been confused, upset and angry. So he did a lot of soul searching and has the same three questions. What he’s doing with his life? Does what he’s doing matter to anyone else? “And how am I making this world a better place?”
Devon will say he’s stepping away from Winters, leaving Nate and Lily to run it without him. He wants to be hands on with building something that improves people’s lives. Devon wants to build a progressive, liberal arts college, open to anyone whether they can afford it or not.
Abby will say she thinks it’s exactly what Devon needs. “I’m naming it the Neil Winters College Of Arts and Humanities,” he’ll say. Abby will add that Devon’s back to his old self again. When he and Abby leave, Lily will ask why Nate has been so quiet. She’ll wonder if he’s worried it’ll affect him workwise.
“I am, but it’s not what you think,” he’ll reply. “Not even close.” Nate will say he couldn’t be happier for Devon, but there’s something he’s been considering. “What I think I want to be doing again, namely medicine.”
Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will remind Kyle he wants to move forward with their lives. “You’re just gonna let Victor slide?” Kyle will reply. His father will say he’s taking a pause on all the venom and vitriol.
They’ll walk onto the patio, only to find Victoria sitting at a table crying. She’ll tell them Nick checked himself out of rehab for a family event the night before. He was supposed to return to rehab but has disappeared. Jack will say he wants to be there for Nicholas.

“I appreciate that but we have to find him first, and hopefully before he starts using again,” Victoria will reply. Then Jack will get a call from his wife and Kyle will tell her Jack agrees with her. “We should put all this negativity behind us.”
Victoria will say she’s trying to hold it together, but she’ll start crying. Kyle will hug her and they’ll pull apart and stare into each other’s eyes. Jack will walk out to the patio and say he’s meeting his wife for dinner. Victoria and Kyle will look at each other awkwardly, and pass on joining them.
At the Park Motel, Nick will pretend Marie doesn’t know what she’s talking about. “I know a fellow user when I see one,” she’ll reply, walking into his room. Nick will say he’s got people counting on him and doesn’t want to use again. He’ll have text notifications coming in. Nick will say they’re wondering why he’s not in rehab.
“I’m going back in the morning,” he’ll add. “I came here to be alone.” Marie will say she can tell it’s been only hours since he took his last hit. She’ll offer to leave him alone and head for the door, but Nick will tell her not to go. “I don’t like this life, I hate being an addict,” he’ll admit. Marie will tell him he just doesn’t like it when he’s jonesing.
Nick will tell Marie his mind’s made up and she’ll leave. Then he’ll pull out the baggie and look at the pills. Instead of taking any, he’ll dump them in the toilet. Marie will return, pretending she forgot her key, and she’ll place a little baggie containing pills in his comforter. “Damnit!” Nick will say when he finds them.
Finally, Nick will invite Marie back to his room and they’ll lie together on his bed. She’ll say it feels good to feel nothing. “So good,” Nick will reply. Marie will say she first took opioids after a car accident. Nick will say it was the same for him. She’ll tell him to embrace the high. “It becomes all you really need.” Then Marie will kiss Nick and they’ll make out. But is Nick going to regret this?
