The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Thursday, January 29 reveals Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will blurt out Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) plan to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Also coming up, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will confide in Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) as Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) opens up to her grandmother. Plus, Claire will ask Kyle to have dinner with her.
Y&R spoilers tease Kyle will tell Diane about Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) matchmaking attempt. Diane will ask if it gave him hope and he’ll say no, it gave him a sense of nostalgia. Kyle will admit he had to learn the hard way that relationships need to happen organically. “I faced some hard truths about my impatience and sense of entitlement.”

Diane will ask if he’s really ready to give up on Claire. “It’s obvious she is,” he’ll reply. “I totally get why she needs to focus on herself before she spends her life with someone else.” Diane will ask if he still has feelings for her. Kyle will say he still loves Claire, but they’re not meant to be.
Meanwhile, Claire will show up at the ranch and she and Nikki will discuss what’s happened to Newman Enterprises. Nikki will say she’s worried about what Victor is planning. Claire will tell her grandmother she can count on her if there’s anything she can do to help.
Talk will turn to Claire’s personal life. Nikki will ask if she’s still seeing Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and she’ll say she’s not sure she can trust him, because of Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). So, Nikki will ask if she’s considered getting back together with Kyle. “I’m not ready for a serious commitment and Kyle made it quite clear he’s ready to move on,” Claire will reply. But she’ll admit she does still think about him.
Claire will end up at Crimson Lights and, lo and behold, so will Kyle. They’ll discuss the Newman Abbott feud and agree to disagree. Then Claire will say she has a lot of time on her hands these days. “Would you maybe want to get dinner?” Kyle will say he’d like that.
At Society, Chelsea will tell Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) she can’t believe they’re going to have to vacate their office. Adam will tell her not to pack just yet, Victor has a plan. So, Chelsea will ask what it is. But Adam will say Victor wants it to be a secret. “I’m not sure this plan is the right way to go,” he’ll admit.

She’ll say it all sounds sketchy. “What is Victor asking you to do?” Chelsea will remind him they’re partners and she’ll ask him to trust her. So he will tell her about Victor wanting Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to believe Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the kids are in jeopardy. She’ll ask if Victor’s going to kidnap them.
Adam will say he just wants Cane to think that. Chelsea will say Cane’s family would have to be completely taken off the radar. A stunned Adam will tell her he doesn’t think they could pull it off without any forced coercion. “If there’s any way we can keep Lily and her family safe, while forcing Cane to capitulate, it’s game over,” Chelsea will say.
Finally, Nikki will summon Chelsea and Adam to the ranch. She wants to know what Victor’s plan is. “I could be of help to you in pulling off whatever it is you need to do.” But Adam will say he won’t go against his father’s wishes.
“Maybe you can’t,” Chelsea will say to Adam. “But I can.” Nikki will point out that since he shared it with Chelsea, he needs to share it with her. “Victor’s plan is to isolate Lily and the twins,” Chelsea will blurt. “And use them as leverage to scare Cane into giving back everything he stole.”
Nikki will say it could work. “And if it does, by God my husband is a genius.” She’ll say she’s a hundred per cent on board and knows what they need to do. But under one condition. “We convince Lily this is how to right Cane’s wrongs,” Nikki will add. “We have to bring her into the plan.”
