The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, July 21 reveals Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will interrupt Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).
Also coming up, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will make an admission to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Plus, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will return home. And Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will share a secret with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Y&R spoilers tease Diane will welcome Jack home. Kyle will arrive and tell them he went to see Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) to pressure her for information on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). “What makes you think she would turn on him?” Jack will ask.
Kyle will tell his parents he’s going to play her and suggest Patty testify against Victor for a better deal. “If you want to help us, help us find Markham,” Diane will tell him. “That man is just as dangerous as Patty.” Then she’ll proceed to describe what happened when she was locked in the doctor’s house and how he tried to manipulate her.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Martin Told Traci He Wanted To Make It Right
“It was almost like he was courting me,” Diane will add. “Now he’s just hiding out somewhere, waiting to take his revenge.” She’ll say she and Kyle are the only ones who can testify he locked her up. And if they’re eliminated, Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) will feel like he’s in the clear.
Diane will mention there were books on his shelf by Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) and she thinks Markham may have turned to his twin brother. The two of them attended conferences and served on boards together, after Martin killed Alan. “I need to pay a visit to Martin Laurent,” Diane will say.
Then Traci will come around the corner. “Wait a minute, you’re not actually planning on contacting that monster,” she’ll say. So, Diane will explain she thinks there’s a connection between Laurence and Martin Laurent.
“He will never talk to you,” Traci will say. “But he might talk to me.” Jack won’t like it but Traci will say it would give her her power back. “I have to do this, for the family and for myself.” Jack will leave the room, with Kyle, to call Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen) to arrange it.
Diane will ask if she’s sure and Traci will say she is. “I am almost looking forward to looking into the face of that maniac.” She’ll add she may have an angle to get information out of Martin. He’s been writing letters to her from his psychiatric facility.
In the letters, he says he wants to make things right, which is the angle she’ll take. Then Jack will walk in and say Burrow is setting up a video call between Traci and Martin. “I will be ready,” she’ll reply.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Nick Starts To Hammer On The Door
Meanwhile, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will continue their conversation about him leaving. He’ll say he can’t build a life in Genoa City. Then Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will walk into the lobby, just as Phyllis grabs Matt and kisses him.
“Is this your invitation to stay?” Matt will ask when she pulls away. Phyllis will say she doesn’t know why she did that. Nick will march over and ask what the hell’s going on. Phyllis will tell him it’s none of his business. “He saved your life, I saved your life, we both did,” she’ll add.
Nick will tell Matt to leave. Now. “And this time, I want you gone forever.” But Phyllis will say Matt’s not like the guy he knew and she really likes him. She’ll tell Matt the Newmans don’t get to pick and choose who stays and who goes. Then Phyllis will grab his arm and take him upstairs.
Nick will take a table and Victoria will arrive. They’ll discuss their mother and she’ll ask her brother what’s made him so upset. So he’ll tell Victoria what he walked in on. She’ll say the two of them belong together. But Victoria will also ask if he’s jealous and Nick will say no.
He’ll leave, heading upstairs, just as Kyle shows up. They’ll talk about Jack and she’ll invite him to have a drink with her. Kyle will suggest they talk about anything but their families and they’ll end up sitting in silence. So, he’ll suggest they each share a secret. “I wear Jabot signature foundation and have been wearing it for years,” Victoria will admit. “Now it’s your turn.”
Finally, Matt will admit Victor threatened him with prison if he leaves and Phyllis will say he means business. So he should stay. “We’re two peas in a pod,” she’ll tell him. “I know what it’s like to walk around town and have people hate you.” Matt will kiss her and they’ll start making out. But then Nick will hammer on the door, telling Phyllis to open up.
