The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, August 29 reveals Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will tell Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) he plans to make a move that no one will expect.
Also coming up, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will offer Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) a promotion. Plus, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will buy an engagement ring. And Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will share news with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Y&R spoilers tease Claire will turn to Nikki for advice on what to do about Kyle. “Take your time and decide,” she’ll reply. She’ll ask Claire if she loves Kyle and if she believes he loves her and she’ll say yes. “I don’t want a lifetime of questioning a person who loves me or needing constant reassurance I’m getting the truth,” she’ll add.
Then Claire will ask what it was she wanted to talk to her about. “Victor and I have decided to fold Newman Publishing into Chancellor,” Nikki will reply. She’ll offer Claire a junior position and hopefully she’ll run the division one day. “Like my dad,” Claire will reply, and accept.
Y&R Daily Scoop – A Desperate Phyllis Begs Cane Not To Give Up
Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will show up on Cane’s choo choo train. “Please tell me you are not killing your plan,” she’ll say. But he’ll tell her it’s done. Not surprisingly, she’ll flip out on him. Cane will say right now he has to fix things with his (offscreen) kids.
So, Phyllis will ask if he’s going to just sit on his hands until his children get over it. Cane will say he’s sorry he let her down. But he needs her to move on. “I have nothing,” Phyllis will reply. “I am not going to let the rug be pulled out from under me, yet again.”
So, she’ll try to convince him to change his mind. “I know I can do this, you need to tell me your plan Cane.” Phyllis will suggest that until his kids come around, she’ll do everything. “I can’t,” he’ll reply. Then Amanda will walk in and won’t be surprised to see Phyllis, who will ask her to talk some sense into Cane.
Phyllis will leave and Amanda will ask Cane if it’s true that he’s dropping his takeover plan. “Why throw in the towel?” she’ll add. “People will think you’re intimidated.” Amanda will add that it could ruin his reputation.
But Cane will say Billy and Phyllis will spread the word that his plan is off, so he can heal things with his kids. “And while the spotlight isn’t on me, I’ll make my move. One that no one will expect.”
At Society, Jack and Diane will attempt to talk Kyle out of his proposing to Claire. “You make it sound like it’s a terrible idea,” he’ll reply. “So, why don’t you want me to marry Claire?” His parents will tell him it seems a little reactive.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Kyle Picks Out An Engagement Ring
“A proposal right now might make Claire think you’re trying to distract from your issues,” Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will say. Jack will ask if he’d be doing this if Claire hadn’t found out about him kissing Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
However, Kyle will say he appreciates their concern, but he’s meeting with their family jeweler today to pick out a ring. He’ll head out and run into Billy, who will sit down with Jack and Diane. “I’m glad I ran into you, I wanna talk to you about Cane.”
He’ll tell them Cane has a whole new vibe to him and is even more confident. But he’s not following through with his scheme. “Wait, it’s over?” Jack will ask. Billy will say he’s not sure. But despite what Cane’s up to, he’s going to get Chancellor back.
Finally, Kyle will meet with the family jeweler and pick out a ring. He’ll head to Crimson Lights and run into Claire. Kyle will ask if they can have dinner together and she’ll say it’s too soon. He’ll tell her they can’t let Audra Charles come between them.
“It isn’t what she did, it’s what you did,” Claire will reply. Kyle will ask her for a chance to earn back her trust. So, he’ll ask her to take the first step and agree to have dinner with him, at the Abbott estate. And Claire will agree.
