The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, January 2 reveals Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will encourage Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to take some time off.
Also coming up, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will recall her past struggles with alcoholism. Plus, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will confide in Sharon. And Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will ask Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) out on a date.
Y&R spoilers tease Nick will arrive at Crimson Lights. Sharon will ask if he celebrated the holiday with his family. He’ll say no, his family has gone through a tough time lately. Then he’ll tell her the whole story about Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Claire Grace (Hayley Erin). Sharon will implore Nick to let her help him. But Nick will say he’s fine, he’s just worried about his family.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Sally Gives Adam A New Year’s Kiss
At the ranch, Nikki will walk into the living room and notice all the alcohol is gone. Victor will come up behind her. “I removed the temptation for you,” he’ll say. He’ll tell her he’ll always be there for her. “I don’t know what I would do without you,” Nikki will reply. They’ll recall when Victor first found out she’d become dependent on alcohol, after a riding accident. He’ll tell her she’s quit alcohol before and she’ll do it again. “We’ll work through it as a family.”
At the GCAC, Victoria will tell Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), she’s concerned Claire may be slipping further away. “Decades of brainwashing and her aunt turns against her as well?” However, Cole will say they should be grateful that Jordan is out of their lives. Victoria will tell him he’s been a positive force for her through it all. But Cole will say he wonders how different things might have been.
Meanwhile, Claire will be alone with her thoughts. “I’m nothing, I always will be,” she’ll think. “They know I’m a monster, it’s in their eyes.” So, she’ll decide to keep them all away and not let anyone get close. After she falls asleep, Cole will walk in. “Once upon a time, there was a little girl, and her parents couldn’t wait for her to be born,” he’ll tell Claire. “They had hopes and dreams for her and what their lives would be like with her. Maybe we can finish that when you wake up.”
Over at the Jazz Club, Adam will run into Sally. He’ll ask if she celebrated New Year’s Eve there, with champagne and confetti. But she’ll say after the ball dropped at midnight, she decided to head downstairs. So, Adam will offer to buy her a drink, for auld lang syne. They’ll reminisce about the first New Year’s Eve they spent together. He’ll remind her that at the end of that night, they kissed. Then Sally will smile and say he’s pushing it again, but she’ll kiss him on the cheek.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Sharon Acts As Sounding Board
The next morning, Nikki will come downstairs and tell Victor the night before was the first night she didn’t have nightmares. She’ll tell him she’s going to a morning AA meeting and then to work. At the meeting she’ll tell everyone she’s been struggling but she has to face her demons.
Victoria will head to Crimson Lights and Sharon will say she knows what happened. She’ll offer to be a sounding board for Victoria, who will take her up on it. She’ll admit she doesn’t know how to connect with Claire. But Sharon will advise her to take care of her own psyche first. She’ll also tell Victoria she should consider taking time off. “You’ve already lost so much time with your daughter, don’t lose any more.”
At Newman Enterprises, Adam will get a call from Sally, asking if he’s free for dinner. “What a coincidence, I’m free,” Adam will reply, grinning. “I can’t wait.” Then he’ll walk into the office and Nick and Victor will hit him with a bombshell. “How could you keep me in the dark about this?” Adam will ask them. “I’m a part of this family. Is it too much to ask to be kept in the loop about something this big?” Victor will get angry and say they need to work together. “Not the two of you arguing! I’m tired of it!”
Finally, Nikki will arrive at Newman, and Victoria shortly afterwards. Adam will ask them how they’re holding up and offer any help they may need. “Actually, I’m glad you’re all here,” Victoria will tell her family. “I’m taking a leave of absence to devote myself to Claire’s recovery.” But who will replace her as co-CEO?
