The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, July 5 reveals Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will blame Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) for the demise of her marriage.
Also coming up, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will pressure Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to resign from Marchetti. Plus, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will offer Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) his penthouse. And Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will boast.
Y&R spoilers tease Lily will spot Audra at Society. Audra will brag, saying she just made huge deal with the head of a studio. Lily will say she’s surprised Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) would hand off such a task. “I guess you haven’t heard,” Audra will tell her. “I’m running Newman Media now.” Then Nate will show up. “I just heard about how your COO has sunk her fangs into your jaw,” Lily will tell him. “That’s what you get when you swim with sharks.”

But Nate will tell his cousin he’s filling in for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) as Newman COO and Audra’s been promoted to his position. Audra will step away and Lily will ask Nate how he’s doing. She’ll say she heard he and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpi) broke up. He’ll tell her he’s actually seeing Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). “Wow, you are swimming with all the sharks, aren’t you?” she’ll reply.
At Devon’s penthouse, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Devon will decide to move into the Chancellor estate. Lily will arrive and fill Devon in on her conversation with Nate and what’s going on at Newman Media. “He just keeps disappointing me over and over.” Devon will ask how she would she feel about being Nate’s neighbor. He’ll tell her Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) offered he and Abby the Chancellor mansion. Although Lily will be caught off guard, she’ll decide to do it.
At Jabot, Jack will ask Kyle how they move forward at Marchetti. “You don’t have to worry about that,” Kyle will reply. “Summer and I will be professional. ” However, Jack will say he has his doubts. “One of you is going to have to step away from their position at Marchetti.” A clueless Kyle will tell Jack that Summer has put everything into the company and it doesn’t seem fair to make her resign.
“I’m sorry Kyle, Summer is not the one who needs to resign,” Jack will tell him. Then he’ll point out to his shocked son that there are plenty of jobs for him at Jabot. “We’ll figure it out,” Jack will say. “But if you are determined to separate from Summer, it makes sense to separate at work as well.” However, Kyle will end up deciding to step away from Jabot altogether.

Meanwhile, Diane will tell Summer if she ever needs anyone to talk to, she’s there for her. “I don’t wanna hear your concern,” Summer will reply. “You were absolutely no help in getting Kyle to forgive me, so thanks for nothing.” Then Diane will tell her she really is sorry. But Summer will say she’s the reason her mom’s gone and her marriage is crumbling. However, she’s grateful she doesn’t have to walk around on egg shells around her anymore. “You know what, my mom was right,” Summer will tell Diane. “You do destroy everything that you touch.”
Later, she’ll come downstairs with a suitcase and Kyle will return home. Summer will call Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) downstairs and they’ll tell him she’s going to be moving out for a little while. As she’s about to leave, Kyle will tell her she can see Harrison any time she likes. “It’s not going to be the same,” Summer will say.
Finally, Summer will run into Chance at the GCAC. He’ll see her suitcase and she’ll say she moved out of the Abbott estate. As for Kyle, he’ll head to Crimson Lights and meet up with Audra. He’ll tell her he and Summer are separating. “I have a lot to figure out right now,” he’ll add. “I’m out of a job.” Audra will be surprised by the news, but it’ll get the wheels turning in her head.
