The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Monday, January 29 reveals Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will give Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) her walking papers.
Also coming up and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will go out to dinner. Plus, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will lie to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) just before he rushes to Nikki’s side.
Y&R spoilers tease Chance will tell Summer she looks perfect. But when they sit down to dinner, things will get awkward. Chance will say they never had a problem making conversation before and Summer will say it’s because it’s a proper date. Summer will admit she feels a little self conscious because anyone could walk in. But they’ll eventually relax and get to know each other better.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Chance Felt The Same Way After His Split
Summer will tell him after everything she went through with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), she can’t imagine going through it again. “I really thought that he was the love of my life.” Chance will admit he felt the same way after he and Abby split up. However, Summer will say she feels lighter these days and the pair will clink glasses.
At Newman Media, Nikki will apologize to Audra for snapping at her. Audra will say she understands and shouldn’t have overstepped. She plans on keeping their relationship strictly professional from now on. “Good,” Nikki will reply. She’ll say she’s not thrilled that Audra knows about her sobriety. “That makes me worry that things will be uncomfortable between us.”
Nikki will say she also worries that Audra will constantly be hovering over her. “I’ll feel watched, I’ll feel judged,” she’ll add. “You won’t be able to help it and we both know that.” She’ll add that kind of dependence will work against her recovery. “It sounds like you’re getting ready to fire me,” Audra will reply.
But Nikki will say she’s not firing her. “I would like you to oversee opening our Newman Media office in London,” she’ll tell her COO. Audra will say she’s flattered, but she likes Genoa City and doesn’t want to leave. “There has to be another way to work this out,” she’ll say. Audra will ask if she turns it down, will she be out of a job entirely. “I can’t see any other option,” Nikki will reply.
Audra will tell Nikki she wants her to move across the ocean so she’s not reminded of her disease. “Me walking away doesn’t change that,” she’ll add. “Think of all the people you’ll hurt when you fall. Because if you do this, you will fall.” So, Nikki will tell Audra she’s left her no choice but to let her go. And right on cue, as soon as Audra leaves, Nikki will reach for the flask in her desk. But she’ll throw it back in without taking a drink.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Victor Asks What He Wants To Know
Meanwhile, Jack will spot Victor sitting at Society’s bar and he’ll join him. He’ll buy him a drink and tell Victor he heard about his family’s kidnapping ordeal. Victor will ask how he knows and Jack will say he ran into Nikki, who mentioned it was traumatic. “It has been dealt with and the family is safe,” Victor will reply. But he won’t look thrilled that Nikki confided in her ex-husband.
“So now that we have had our tete-a-tete, what do you really wanna know?” Victor will ask. But Jack will say his only agenda is his concern for Nikki and for the family. Then Nikki will call him and say she needs to see him right away. “Is everything all right?” Victor will ask. Jack will lie and say it was Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and he needs to get home. A few minutes later, Audra will show up and tell Victor that Nikki just fired her.
As for Jack, he’ll head to Newman Media. When he gets there, Nikki will be in a tizzy. She’ll tell him she fired Audra. Jack will worry about Nikki running a short-staffed Newman Media. “That’s not a good recipe for sobriety.” Nikki will tell Jack that’s exactly what Audra said. “Oh God Jack, what I am doing?” However, Jack will say he has an idea she won’t shoot down. He has someone he thinks will fit in perfectly, but he needs to speak to the person first. “I am not going to let you find a reason to drink,” Jack will say. “You are strong Nikki, don’t forget that.”
Finally, Victor will knock on the locked office door at Newman Media. “Nikki are you in there?” he’ll ask. Inside, Nikki and Jack will look at each other, with panic in their eyes.
