The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop suggest Eric Braeden has once again called for the return of Doug Davidson.
Braeden, who plays Victor Newman on the Y&R, sounded off on Twitter last night. He believes Davidson, who plays Genoa City Police Chief Paul Williams, should be back on the sudser.
“I have been in DOUGIE DAVIDSON’S CORNER FOR YEARS!” he commented. “I think it is utterly wrong that he isn’t involved in story lines! He is one of the all time favorites on our soap and should bloody well be an important part of it!!!”

In March, Davidson’s cryptic post on Twitter had Y&R fans in an uproar. “I just want to thank you again for all your support,” he posted on March 5. “But I think I am done. After 43 years I am treated like a day player. No Bueno.”

Fans were quick to agree with Braeden. “We’ve been asking for years,” one fan commented. “Bring Paul back.” Then Davidson himself thanked Braeden for his support. “You are so incredibly kind,” he posted.
However, this isn’t the first time Braeden has called defended Davidson. When he was initially fired in September 2018, he angrily tweeted: “I have just learned that the wonderful Doug Davidson has been fired…This is a disgrace.”

Then in early 2019, the veteran actor asked the the powers that be to return Davidson to the Y&R. Not long afterward, Braeden posted a photo of he and Davidson with the caption: “He’s Back!!” But when Paul did return, he was barely utilized. And he hasn’t been seen onscreen in more than six months.
Viewers have been commenting for weeks now about how ridiculous it is that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) has been investigating his own poisoning, since there are no other cops in town. But will Y&R producers do the right and return Davidson to his rightful place?
