The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop reveals Donny Boaz will return to the Y&R as Chance Chancellor on Friday, December 18.
The actor announced the news on his Instagram account and included a photo from an upcoming scene with onscreen spouse Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).
“Just a little screen shot from #yr. This is how happy I feel to be back at work,” Boaz posted. “For all of the fans, I will be back in Chance Chancellors shoes and on your tv on 12/18/2020. Spoiler Alert: I think @mel_ordway and I had one of the best, most magical scenes we’ve ever shot today.”

Boaz had to take a break from filming in mid November when he tested positive for COVID-19. Ordway’s real-life husband Justin Gaston filled in for him for about a month. While he was away, Boaz said Ordway checked in on him almost every day, which meant a lot.
The actor also expressed his appreciation for Gaston. “I want to thank you for stepping in to Chance Chancellors shoes at the last minute and for being a badass! The fans have no idea that you had a 3-4 day heads up and had to crank out 110+ pages a week to catch up for the time I was out.
“Sad I couldn’t be there for such a momentous occasion for Chance and Abby’s wedding, but simultaneously in awe of what an amazing and unique experience it was to get to marry your own spouse on daytime TV. That’s pretty cool. I’m thankful for you two.”

Y&R fans are also thankful to hear that Boaz is fine and will be returning to the show this week. Many told him he’d been missed and they were happy that he would be back so soon.
“I’m glad her husband was available to take over for the wedding scenes and everything that went with that part of the storyline. Social distancing would have made it a bit awkward for you guys to play that out otherwise,” one fan commented. “But, I’m sooooooo thrilled to have you back. I’m wishing you continued well wishes and hope you never leave us again. “
