The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Thursday, May 2 reveals Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will decide to ease all the tension he’s been going through.
Also coming up, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be terrified when Jack collapses in her hotel room.
Y&R spoilers tease Jack will refuse to walk away from the hotel room door. “I’m your sponsor, remember?” he’ll say. So, Nikki will finally let him in and he’ll ask what happened there.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Nikki Chugs Down Vodka In Front Of Jack
Nikki will try to crack open another bottle of vodka but he’ll grab it. “What a gentleman, make mine a double,” she’ll say. However, Jack will tell her they can still make a meeting. “I am sick of meetings, filled with sad sacks,” she’ll reply. “I’m not going to a meeting and I’m not gonna get sober!”
Jack will say the room is a mess and so is she. “Look at yourself,” he’ll tell her. But Nikki will say she knows what she looks like. She’s on a bender and he’s not invited. Jack will tell her Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) is okay, Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell) is home and Jordan (Colleen Zenk) is dead, so she can quit drinking.
Then he’ll say they need to talk about rehab. “I’ve tried everything,” she’ll reply. “You have to want to get sober, but I don’t.” However, Jack will tell her she can turn things around. Nikki will say she’s tired of fighting it. “Look what I’ve done, Harrison could have been killed, Claire too.”
But Jack will say she’s not to blame for Jordan’s actions and he’ll tell her to pull herself together and fight for her family. “Help Claire so she doesn’t backslide, help her, welcome her.” And Nikki will agree, as she grabs a bottle from the table.
“They deserve all of me,” she’ll say. “They deserve for me to pour this down the sink.” She’ll add that she’s even considering going to rehab. Jack will ask if she means it, but she’ll sneer at him instead. “You’re gonna have to rip this out of my hand to stop me,” Nikki will reply and take a chug.
Once again, Jack will suggest they go to a meeting and she’ll refuse. Nikki will tell Jack she’s sorry she has him as her sponsor, against Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) wishes. “But he was right, you couldn’t help me and now he can say I told you so.”
Young And The Restless Scoop – Jack Pulls Out A Baggie Filled With Pills
Then she’ll tell him not to look so sad. “It’s a buzzkill. You either join the party, or get out.” So, he’ll say fine, he will, and he’ll pour himself a drink. Shortly after, Jack will make a call and ask someone to make a delivery to their hotel room.
“You know what, you’re right, I have been wound too tight, for too long, it is time to let loose!” he’ll tell Nikki after he hangs up. Jack will admit he’s been a failure as her sponsor and he’ll recount all the hell he’s been going through lately. “I’ve been juggling a million balls in the air, trying to be there for everyone. I can’t do it, it’s not working!” He’ll say he sees the relief she’s getting out of a bottle. “I want some relief!”
There’ll be a knock on the door and Jack will answer. He’ll close the door and open a paper bag, pulling out a baggie full of pills. “Now this is what hits the spot,” he’ll say. But Nikki will tell him to stop it. However, Jack will say he has to put himself in her shoes.
“I am grateful for the bond we have, I will do whatever it takes,” he’ll tell her. He’ll add that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was worried his helping her would tempt him back to the pills. He assured her he wouldn’t. But for the first time in ages, he thought just one pill would give him some release and ease his tension.
Jack will assure Nikki it’s just for one night. “This is my world, my nightmare,” Nikki will shout. “I don’t want company and you’re not welcome!” And she’ll try to stop him when he opens the baggie. “How does it feel, to not be able to stop someone from hurting themselves?” Jack will ask, as he pops a pill in his mouth.
Finally, he’ll take more pills, with swigs of vodka, and tell Nikki he let her down, as a friend, and as a sponsor. Then Jack will try to dance with her, as he stumbles around. “Let’s just stay here, our own private paradise,” he’ll tell Nikki. But then he’ll collapse on the couch and Nikki will try to wake him up, to no avail.
