The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Thursday, January 18 reveals Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will make a surprising business decision.
Also coming up, Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) will get on Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) nerves. Plus, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will catch Seth (Brian Gaskill) rifling through her desk. And Jack wants to be Nikki’s sounding board.
Y&R spoilers tease Nikki will walk into her office only to find Seth going through her desk. She’ll ask if he was looking for vodka. “I’m not the only one who started drinking again, am I?” she’ll ask him. But Seth will say he came there because he was worried about her. “Have you been drinking today?” he’ll ask. “I am perfectly sober,” she’ll reply.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Seth Asks To Go To A Meeting Together
Seth will admit that he fell hard and he’s so ashamed. He’ll ask if they should go to a meeting and she’ll tell she can’t be around him. But he’ll ask her not to get rid of him altogether. “I need a friend.” However, Nikki will tell him to reach out to someone else. “My sobriety is too precarious.” Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will interrupt and Seth will say he’s sorry he let her down.
After he leaves, Audra will ask Nikki if she’s okay. Nikki will say she hopes she understands what she’s about to tell her goes no further. “That man who was here was my sponsor, and he drank.” So, she told him she can’t rely on him and can’t be around him. “Even after all these years, whenever I hear that someone relapsed, it just gives me a pit in my stomach,” Audra will reply. Nikki will thank her for opening up and then she’ll get a text from Jack, asking to meet.
At the Abbott estate, Jack will tell Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) he’s worried about a friend. “Why don’t you tell me what you can, and I promise to keep this person’s confidence,” she’ll reply. But first, he’ll say he has to tell her something about himself. “I was addicted to painkillers,” he’ll say. “And I closed that chapter.” He’ll also admit that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) helped him during his road to recovery. Then he’ll tell his wife the friend he was talking about was Nikki. “She’s drinking again,” Diane will say.
So, Jack will ask it she’s okay with him reaching out to Nikki and Diane will say she trusts him. “You have my support, there’s just one thing,” she’ll add. “Do you think that by helping her, you could reawaken your own addiction?” she’ll ask. Jack will tell her absolutely not.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Tucker Is Still Coming For Kyle
When Nikki shows up, Diane will head out to meet Kyle. Jack will tell Nikki he was concerned about her, considering the ordeal her family went through. “Lauren told you everything, didn’t she?” Nikki will ask. So, Jack will say Lauren is worried about her and so is he. “You can beat this,” he’ll tell her. “Let me be your sounding board, your punching bag. Whatever you need to win this fight.” However, Nikki won’t be sure, but she’ll say she’ll think about it.
Meanwhile, Kyle will run into Tucker at Society and he’ll ask if he’s still angry about the punch. “In spite of my sore jaw, or maybe because of it, I’ve actually grown to respect you,” he’ll say. They’ll discuss his failed master plan and then Tucker will ask Kyle to look him in the eye and tell him that at no point did he think about working with him to get the top spot at Jabot. “By the way, I’m still coming for you,” he’ll add as he leaves.
Diane will arrive and she’ll tell Kyle she’s still working on Jack to appoint him as co-CEO. But Kyle will say he doesn’t want the job. He thinks he’s where he needs to be as COO. And he thinks he knows who Jack should appoint to replace Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Diane will ask who. “You,” he’ll reply. But Diane will balk. “No, I will be pushing for your promotion.” However, Kyle will tell her she should be the one replacing Billy. “And I’m going to make sure that dad agrees.”
Finally, Jack will join his wife and son and Diane will bring up the co-CEO position. Jack will say he’s made a decision. But Kyle will ask him not to say anything yet, because he thinks Diane should get the job. “Wait, how’d you know that?” Jack will ask, and smile at his son. “Great minds.” Diane will be flattered but she thinks Kyle is much more qualified. “It is the dawn of a new era for Jabot,” Jack will tell her. But is he making a big mistake?
