The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Thursday, July 20 reveals Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will be determined to learn the truth about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Also coming up, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will play it cool when she comes face to face with Phyllis. Plus, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will interrogate Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). And Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) will get frustrated.
Y&R spoilers tease Ashley will play nice with Diane. “Did you hear the news? Phyllis is back.” Ashley will point out that it doesn’t look like Phyllis will face any prison time. “Doesn’t it make your blood boil?” She’ll add that Phyllis made bail and doesn’t even need to wear an ankle bracelet. But Diane will reply that she’s going to focus on her own life, just like Ashley should do.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Tucker Places His Hands Over Theirs
At Society, Phyllis will tell Tucker she needs time to work out a plan and lay the groundwork. “I know what I’m supposed to do,” she’ll say. “I’ll take care of Diane.” Then Diane will walk in, spot Phyllis and sit down with them. She’ll tell Phyllis they both fell victim to the same man, Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). Diane will also say she’s willing to move on from what happened.
A surprised Phyllis will grab her hands and ask if she’s for real. And Diane will say she is. Tucker will get angry watching them. So, he’ll put his own hands over Diane’s and Phyllis’. “Diane, wouldn’t you just like to punch her in the face?” he’ll ask. “Stay out of this Tucker,” she’ll reply. But afterwards, Diane will look frustrated, as she flashes back to her cat fight with Phyllis on the night of the gala.
Meanwhile, Ashley will get a call. “Jack did what?” she’ll ask. Then Billy will show up and ask why Ashley summoned him. She’ll ask him what Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is doing in New York. But Billy will lie and say he doesn’t know. He’ll ask Ashley if she has plans to take her patents and her company from Jabot. “Any aggressive move, we will respond in kind,” he’ll warn.
As Billy leaves, Tucker will arrive. He’ll tell Ashley he was there when Diane and Phyllis came face to face. “It was underwhelming…I almost thought they were going to hug it out,” he’ll say. But he doesn’t think Phyllis will let them down. “I think it was just smoke and mirrors.” Once again, he’ll want to talk about their wedding. However, Ashley will say she thinks they should delay it until it’s real. “Because I think I’m falling in love with you.”

At the GCAC, Christine will flash back to when she confronted Phyllis about renting a car on the same day she and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) were supposed to get married. But instead, they ended up in the hospital. Christine will get up to leave and will come face to face with Phyllis. “You’re not going to allow ancient history to cloud your professional opinion are you?” Phyllis will ask her.

“Getting run over by a car tends to stick with you,” Christine will respond. “Not to mention the numerous other ways you’ve disregarded the rules of common decency to get what you want.” However, Christine will say when she was prosecuting Phyllis’ supposed murder, she put all her reservations aside to seek judgment for Phyllis’ kids. Only to discover she had wasted police resources just to satisfy some petty revenge. “It wasn’t petty revenge, it’s not that simple,” Phyllis will say.
But Christine will tell her nemesis she doesn’t believe she came out of hiding out of the goodness of her heart. “I don’t think you would ever come back here unless you had the strong belief that you felt safe,” she’ll say. “That you could somehow exonerate yourself.” However, Phyllis will tell her justice is on her side. “Is it? Because something feels off here,” Christine will reply. “And I am determined to find out what. I’ll see you in court.”
