The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, August 14 reveals Alan Laurent’s (Christopher Cousins) behavior will be suspicious, when he walks inside the Abbott estate with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
Also coming up, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will try to reason with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). Plus, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will try to see Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) point of view. And Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be thrilled by Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) decision.
Y&R spoilers tease Claire will ask Victoria if she wants her to follow in her footsteps at Newman. She’ll admit she’d like her to work at the family company but there’s no rush. Claire will say she needs to be there for Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell), with the custody battle going on.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Summer Asks If Chance Is Taking Kyle’s Side
Then Victoria will ask Claire if she’s given thought to changing her last name. “It be an honor, I really think it would help me put my past behind me,” Claire will reply. They’ll arrive at Newman and Claire will tell Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) she’s decided to officially change her name to Newman.
Meanwhile, Summer will tell Chance that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) hates her. “I just want more time with my son,” she’ll whine. “Is that so unreasonable?” Then she’ll tell Chance that Kyle offered to keep things the same, but refused to cut Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) out of his life.
“Kyle wants to keep things the way they are right, joint custody?” Chance will ask. And he’ll say it sounds like a fair solution. “Are you taking Kyle’s side over mine?” Summer will reply. But Chance will tell her she should take a deep breath and think through her next move.
He’ll add that he knows she’s upset and angry. However, that is when people make rash decisions. “I’ve been in your position, things with Abby could have gotten ugly,” Chance will add. “It couldn’t be about winning, it was what was best for Dominic.”
So, he’ll ask what would be best for Harrison and she’ll say peace and moments that aren’t tinged with resentment.” Chance will tell her joint custody was working before. “Look, if you go to court, there’s no guarantee you’re going to win.” So, Summer will say she’ll think about it and thank him for his advice with a kiss.
But Summer will change her tune, when she runs into Claire at the park. She’ll ask Claire about Kyle and Audra. But Claire will say it’s not her place to discuss it. “If there’s something not right about Kyle’s partnership with Audra, I deserve to know,” Summer will reply.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Jack Tells Billy The Change Feels Wrong
At the Abbott estate, Traci and Alan will walk in. “Oh my gosh, look at all this,” Alan will say to Traci, as though he’s never been there before. Traci will remind him it’s not his first time there. “I’m just taking it all in, you know,” he’ll quickly reply. “Yeah but, you know, I just didn’t appreciate it before.” Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will walk in and Traci will invite her to lunch.
At Society, Jack will argue with Billy about the name change. He’ll say that slapping the Abbott name on another company feels wrong. But Billy will say he’s doing it to honor his mother’s legacy. Jack will counter that Abbott isn’t even Jill’s name. “She was legally an Abbott for a very short time.”
However, Jack will add he doesn’t want to fight, there’s enough going on with the family. He’ll confide that Kyle is furious with him and Diane. “I am trying to be civil here, could you maybe help me.” So, Billy will agree and Jack will open up to Billy about Kyle. “I have witnessed Kyle’s arrogance grow,” Billy will say. He’ll add that Kyle needs to fail, it’s the only way for him to learn.
Finally, Diane, Traci and Alan will arrive. They’ll all sit together and Alan will tell them Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) should be home for outpatient treatment by the end of the summer. Then Jack will turn to Traci and Alan. “There seem to be some developments here,” he’ll say.
She’ll beam as she tells her brother it all started in Paris. Diane will tell Traci she looks very happy and she’ll say she is. “Getting to know your sister has been one of the most wonderful things to happen to me in a long time,” Alan will add.
Then Traci will admit she hasn’t been this happy in a long time. But Billy will ask how they’ll be able to make the long distance thing work and Alan will say he’s thinking about moving to Genoa City. Traci will smile, but is she smiling at Alan, or his twin brother Martin?
