The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, July 24 reveals Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will say yes to Devon Winters’ (Bryton James) marriage proposal.
Also coming up, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will surprise Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Plus, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will lay out his empire building plans. And Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will come clean with Devon, and with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Y&R spoilers tease Tessa will set up an anniversary picnic for Mariah at Chancellor Park. They’ll talk about the night of their first real date, on the rooftop of the GCAC. Tessa will present Mariah with a stuffed squid, to commemorate the sci-fi movie they watched.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Nikki Reacts To Victor’s Takeover Plan
Meanwhile, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be speechless by Victor’s pronouncement that he’s in the process of acquiring Chancellor Industries for her to run. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will say if he pulls this off, their family business will become an empire.
But Victor will reply it’s not an if, it’s a when. He’ll tell his family Billy was foolish enough to split the companies. “Billy boy treats every new acquisition as a toy,” Victor will add. “He has disgraced Katherine’s memory and I’m going to make it right.” Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will say Billy won’t roll over, so it’ll have to be a hostile takeover.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will worry about the father of her children. And she’ll remind Victor he sold his shares to Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd). However, Victor say he bought them back. An impressed Adam will tell his dad he’s second to none when it comes to dishing out karmic justice. But Nick will point out Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) not just going to let her have Chancellor without a fight.
As for Nikki, she’ll ask Victor why he’s doing this. Victor will say it’s about Katherine Chancellor’s (the late Jeanne Cooper) legacy. She gave the company to him and now he’s taking it back. He’ll turn to his wife and ask how she feels about it. “Thank you for believing in me,” she’ll reply. “But Victor, do you really want to go to war with Jill and Billy?”
Victor will say he thinks Jill is tired of going to war. “What about Lily, any idea of what happens to her?” Nick will ask. So, Victor will say she’s a valuable asset and hopefully she’ll stay on. Nikki and Victoria will leave and Nick will tell his father he’s going to run into a ton of resistance. Adam will say he doesn’t have a high opinion of Billy, but thinks Victor is underestimating him.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Lily Tells Him She’s Staying Put
At Society, Lily and Billy will walk in and Devon will not be happy. Abby will remind him his sister is just stringing Billy along until she joins him at Winters. “I don’t think Billy is the one she’s stringing along,” Devon will reply. “I think it’s pretty obvious she has no intention of leaving Chancellor.”
Then Lily and Billy will approach and Devon will ask to speak to Lily alone. They’ll head outside and Devon will ask Lily what she’s going to do. “I’ve decided to stay with Billy at Chancellor,” Lily will say. She’ll tell Devon he’s a lone wolf and likes making decisions for himself. Devon will say he’s not surprised, but he’s still disappointed.
However, Lily will say she put a lot of work into Chancellor and she can’t walk away from that. “I know that you’re making a mistake because you know the company better than he does,” Devon will tell her. “Billy has, and always has been, all about Billy.”
They’ll head inside and Devon and Abby will leave. So, Billy will ask Lily why Devon doesn’t seem happy with her. And Lily will admit she hasn’t really been honest with Devon, or him, about her intentions. She’ll tell him she and Devon had a plan for her to jump ship, once the deal was done.
But Billy will ask what changed her mind. “You did,” she’ll reply. “I validate your ideas and you acknowledge my input.” So, Billy will say they have a clean slate now, they need to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
Finally, Devon and Abby will head to the park and he’ll say Lily’s staying at Chancellor. “Now that Lily’s made it clear where she stands, I can move forward,” he’ll add. They’ll sit on a bench and canoodle. “Will you do something for me?” Devon will ask. “Marry me?” He’ll add that if she wants to think about it, that’s fine. But she’ll say she doesn’t need to. “Yes, yes. I will marry you Devon Winters,” Abby will reply, and she’ll kiss him.
