The Bold And The Beautiful (B&B) had several memorable plots this year that were must-see TV. The following is a list of B&B’s best storylines of 2023.
4. Eric And Ridge’s Fashion Challenge
Eric Forrester (John McCook) felt as though his son was putting him out to pasture, especially when he realized his stapler had gone missing. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) didn’t consider it a big deal. Plus, he made it clear he didn’t really want his father hanging around the office.
Ridge suggested Eric spend his free time playing pickleball or travelling with Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis). But Eric was determined to prove to Ridge that he still had what it takes to run a fashion house. So, he challenged him to a competition and his son accepted. And viewers were treated to a fabulous fashion show.
Shortly after, Ridge learned he’d won the fashion challenge and also found out his father was dying. But he lied and told Eric that he had won. It was a lie that lasted until Eric’s big shindig, when he finally found out about Ridge’s fib. “That’s about the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me,” a grinning Eric told him. It was a genuine moment between father and son and a heartfelt payoff to this storyline.

3. Liam Spots Hope Kissing Thomas
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), aka the waffler, finally got his just deserts in 2023. And what a comeuppance it was. Liam decided to surprise his wife by showing up in Italy during a Hope For The Future fashion preview.
He arrived a little late and learned the preview was already over. Liam found out Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) was out sightseeing. So he decided to find her. He raced through the streets of Rome, searching for Hope. But instead of a romantic reunion, he got an eyeful.
Liam looked up and saw his wife kissing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) in front of the Colosseum. And the look on his face, when he spotted her pulling his nemesis in for a passionate smooch, was the payoff Liam so richly deserved.
The kiss in Rome led to the end of Lope’s marriage and Liam flip flopping right back to pursuing Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). It also resulted in hurt feelings on both sides and some incredible acting by both Clifton and Noelle.
2. Hope Sleeps With Thomas
Hope unsuccessfully begged Liam to forgive her for much less than she’d absolved him for in the past. And when he refused, she turned to Thomas. Hope showed up at his apartment and decided to go for it. After all, she’d been fantasizing about sleeping with Thomas for months.
Thope spent hours in his bed and might have spent days there, if it wasn’t for Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). She caught them in the act and chastised her daughter for sleeping with him. But Hope stood up to Brooke and defended Thomas and has continued to do so ever since. Plus, their romp in Thomas’ bed has led to a full-blown relationship. But will Thope stay together through 2024?
Bold And The Beautiful Scoop – Bill Defied His Family For Sheila
1. Bill And Ridge Team Up To Take Down Sheila
B&B characters and viewers were shocked when Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) defied his family and declared his undying love for Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). He also blackmailed Steffy and Finn (Tanner Novlan) to have the charges dropped against his lady love. And no one could figure out whether Bill had just lost his mind, or if Sheila was drugging or hypnotizing him.
But the payoff, when Bill walked into a secret FBI surveillance room and Ridge asked how he was holding up, was worth it. “How do you think I’m holding up?” Bill replied. “I am ready. I am so ready to put Sheila Carter behind bars for life.”
Sure, this plot ended badly when Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) whispered in Judge Evan Scott’s (Michael Corbett) ear and all the charges against Sheila were dropped. But the fact that two enemies were working together to take down a villain was a classic B&B twist viewers wish they’d see more of.

I think you need fresh writers. Get some new characters. The best was when Spencer was leading Sheila down the path to get caught and then it went downhill after that. The same old people getting back with the same old people. Big mistake kicking off Taylor.
