The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop reveals more actors could be let go from the CBS soap opera in the coming weeks.
Viewers know Donny Boaz, who played Chance Chancellor, was told on Christmas Eve that his contract wouldn’t be renewed. He announced on Sunday that his last airdate would be on February 1, 2021. But in his Instagram post, he also said something that had fan’s radar on high alert.
“Reason for my departure: Due to the cost incurred because of COVID testing, production is to let go of 4 or 5 contract players,” he posted. “And due to the writers and future story line…I didn’t make the cut.”
Young And The Restless Scoop – Sasha Calle Could Also Be On The Way Out
However, moments later he mysteriously edited the post and had deleted this telling bit of information. This means viewers could see even more actors get the axe in the coming weeks. But who?

Surely Melissa Ordway (Abby Chancellor) won’t have all that much to do, once her onscreen husband suddenly disappears. Will she also be let go from the soap? Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) was also heavily involved in Chance and Abby’s fertility story but that plotline has obviously stalled.
There have also been rumors that Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales) may be cut from the cast. Since Lola’s marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) ended, she’s had no storyline whatsoever. Her brother Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) could follow, if his marriage to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) were to end abruptly.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Are Veteran Actors Safe From The Y&R Axe?
One would think Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Peter Bergman’s (Jack Abbott) jobs are secure. But viewers know even veterans aren’t safe when it comes to the Y&R axe.
Just look at Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), who had been a stalwart of the show for more than 40 years. He was let go in September 2018, although he has returned for an occasional appearance during the last two years.
It looks like viewers will be in for a wild ride during the next couple of weeks. Keep reading The Soap Scoop for more Young And The Restless spoilers and news. And make sure you join our free Facebook Group.

If the show is going to cut more cast members the fans including me will be so disappointed that we & they will stop watching the show all together. Why not take a break from filming more episodes until the pandemic is gone & it’s safe to return to filming. Then bring back Donnie Boaz. I’m done.
