The General Hospital (GH) scoop reveals Chad Duell, who plays Michael Corinthos, has decided to leave the ABC sudser.
“After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show,” he posted on Instagram this afternoon. “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life.
“I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.”
GH Scoop – Michael Corinthos’ Storyline Was Finally Heating Up
Duell’s announcement comes at a time when his character’s storyline was finally heating up. Michael recently learned that Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) cheated on him with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison).
Of course, he himself cheated on his wife with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) right after he learned that Willow had kissed Drew. On Friday’s GH, Sasha bought a pregnancy test, so she may be pregnant with Michael’s child.
Fans reacted to Duell’s exit with surprise. “What a shock. He will be missed,” a fan posted. “He’s been such an integral part of the show.” Others wondered if Michael would be recast or if the character would just be killed off. “Michael is an integral character to me,” a viewer commented. “I hope they don’t kill him off.”

He also said it wasn’t a goodbye, it was a see you later. And Duell’s last airdate is not known yet. So, will GH decide to recast the role? Robert Adamson has filled in for Duell on occasion. But will he be tapped to play Michael permanently? Stay tuned!
