The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, October 18 reveals Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will come to a realization about Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
Also coming up, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will gather, as Phyllis reflects on her 30 year history in Genoa City.
Y&R spoilers tease Phyllis will tell Daniel not to give up. Summer will arrive and say Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) suggested Daniel get a lawyer. Lucy will start freaking out, asking why her dad needs a lawyer. “Are they going to arrest him?”
Y&R Daily Scoop – Phyllis Recalls Telling Daniel She’s His Mom
So, Daniel will say he can’t wrap his head around who would set him up and do this to Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Phyllis will immediately flash back to Sharon threatening her and Heather. She’ll say it’s someone so diabolical and so clever that they were able to break into his apartment and plant evidence without anyone finding out. “What if it were Sharon?” But Daniel will say it’s a pretty big stretch.
However, Phyllis will tell him Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and her kids have been questioning her stability and mental health. She also finds it odd that Sharon showed up at his apartment the night Heather died. “And she came up with some story that Heather confided in her and that you guys had been arguing.”
Daniel will tell his mom it’s still not enough to point the finger at her for murder. “It’s enough for me,” Phyllis will reply. She’ll say she’s the only one in town who knows what Sharon is truly capable of. And she’ll flash back to fights she had with her rival.
Phyllis will say Sharon tried to kill her once. And she’ll remember Sharon pushing her down the stairs. But Daniel can’t see it and he’ll ask Phyllis to stop. She will and she’ll offer to tell Lucy about her life. Phyllis will start by telling her she put a dead octopus in Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Christine Blair’s (Lauralee Bell) honeymoon bed.
Then she’ll recall her pursuit of Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and flash back to when Daniel was sick when he was a baby. It led to Danny having a new appreciation for her and asking her to marry him. Lucy will ask what happened. “I loved him, but he didn’t love me back,” Phyllis will admit.
When Danny found out, thanks to Cricket, that he wasn’t Daniel’s biological father, he sued her for custody and won. She didn’t see her son again until he was a teenager. And she’ll flash back to the moment she told Daniel she was his mother.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Phyllis And Nick Found Each Other
Daniel will suggest Phyllis tell Lucy Summer’s story. So, she’ll regale her granddaughter with the tale of her involvement with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Nick. Viewers will see flash backs of her relationship with Jack and how she almost died losing his child. Then Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) came along with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and ripped them apart.
But then along came Nick. Daniel will comment this was after Cassie died. “I was lost, Nick was grieving and we found each other,” Phyllis will reply. Daniel will say it’s amazing how much of their lives can be traced back to that night.
Summer will say it’s weird to think that she may never have been born if it wasn’t for Cassie. At the time, Phyllis was also seeing Jack. And surprisingly she got pregnant and wasn’t sure if Jack or Nick was the father. But she confided in her best friend Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). And he told her she could handle anything.
Nick ended up marrying her and what happened next was beautiful but also the most terrifying night of her life. The worst ice storm in Genoa City hit and she ended up stuck in an elevator with Jack. There were questions about the paternity and Sharon switched the results at one point. But Summer was Nick’s. “I had such a great ride with him and we were so good together,” Phyllis will say.
Finally, Summer will ask her mom what she’s going to do about Sharon. “My internal radar is on point, I will be gathering information,” Phyllis will reply, and turn to Daniel. “Chance already thinks you are guilty and I need to change his mind. You are innocent and I will be proving that.”
