The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) has received an outpouring of support from fans after he revealed he’s fighting bladder cancer.
In a moving and impassioned video message to Y&R viewers, Braeden explained that he was in a lot of pain on his way to work at CBS Studios recently. So, he headed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
He was seen by a urologist who recognized him as Victor Newman. The doctor also told him he learned how to speak English by watching Y&R, as he performed a series of tests. Braeden returned to the hospital three days later for his test results.

Then the doctor took a look at his bladder and told him he had cancer. “I said woah,” Braeden commented in his video. “So, needless to say, I was taken aback but I was determined to deal with it.” The 82-year-old actor then had surgery and the cancer was removed. Afterwards, the surgeon told him he thought he’d gotten it all.

But when Braeden returned a week later he learned that amongst the low grade cancer cells in his bladder, there were also some high grade cancer cells. And it was suggested they treat it with immunotherapy.
Fans were quick to take to social media to show their support for the actor. “Thank you for your vulnerability and passion,” one viewer posted on Twitter. “I have faith that your health will prevail.”
“OMG I need my Victor Newman forever. Thank God for the doctor at Cedars Sinai,” another fan said. “Thank you, Eric, for being so vulnerable with us. You got this!”

So far, Braeden has had two immunotherapy infusions. “So that’s where I am right now. I’m a little under the weather but not very much,” the actor said. “If you’ve seen me look a little under the weather, I have been.
“But I will lick this. This bastard ain’t gonna get me – I’m gonna get it. And I’ll be in top form again soon.” The Soap Scoop has no doubt that Braeden will beat this and we’d like to send him all good thoughts for a full recovery.
