The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop reveals Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be returning to Genoa City.
Soap Opera Digest broke the story this morning that Mealor will be back on contract. This news comes in the wake of Kyle’s mother Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) stunning comeback this week.
Y&R spoilers tease Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will break the shocking news to Kyle that his mother is alive and is in Los Angeles. This will obviously precipitate some strong emotions in Kyle and the need for him to return home.

Fans couldn’t be happier about the news. “With Diane back on the show, Kyle needs to be there now so I’m glad to hear this,” a fan commented on Twitter. “I guess now that Diane is alive and well, Kyle needs to show up!” another viewer said.

There have been hints in the past couple of weeks that Kyle might be back. Perhaps the biggest was when he appeared to Jack on video chat on the March 15 episode. Jack told Kyle that Keemo Abbott (Philip Moon) had passed away. And Kyle told him he’d always be there for him.
Many other fans reacted with pleasure at the news of Mealor’s impending return. “Yeah!!!!! I’m so excited and can hardly wait,” one commented. “You and Summer have been dearly missed!”

Another asked if Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) would also return. And perhaps that is the biggest question on viewer’s minds at the moment. Will Summer come with him? The rumor mill has been ripe with gossip that Y&R has put out a casting call, looking for a new actress to play Summer.
So, it seems likely that Kyle’s wife will also eventually leave Milan and return to Wisconsin. But will she be portrayed by a different actress?
